Moel Y Garth Pools, Guilsfield (Two pools, disabled facility)


Species: Roach, Perch, Carp, Tench, Rudd, Bream

Head up Welshpool Main Street to roundabout and take second exit signposted
Guilsfield, continue for approximately 3 miles and pools are on the left hand side of the road.

Please do not enter surrounding woodland and park only in designated areas. Park within the pools car parks and not the layby.The lane leading from the layby is private property and therefore access on foot or by vehicle is strictly not permitted.

River Severn, Lower Leighton, Welshpool


Species: Barbel, Chub, Dace, Pike, Trout, Grayling

At traffic lights in Welshpool take B4381 South for approximately 1 mile to the river bridge.
Fishing on the Left bank from road bridge for approximately 3/4 mile to Henfaes Brook.

River Severn, Llandrinio

Species: Salmon, Barbel, Chub, Dace, Roach, Perch, Pike, Grayling, Trout

Take the A483 Welshpool to Oswestry road. At Four Crosses take the B4393 to Shrewsbury. Pass through the village of Llandrinio and you will come to Llandrinio bridge with traffic lights on it. Fishing is for 1 3/4 miles on the righthand bank facing upstream of the bridge. Parking is limited in the layby on the main road. The only access is via the wicket metal gate near the bridge. Do not leave any gates open or litter.

River Vyrnwy, Great Dyffryd Farm

Species: Barbel, Chub, Pike, Grayling, Dace, Trout
From Welshpool take A438 towards Oswestry. In Llanymynech, turn right onto B4398 for approximately 2 miles, turn right at signpost for Dyffryd and follow the lane to the farm.
Park in the lane beyond the gate, fishing is 1/2 mile each side of the lane except for the first small field on either side of the lane.

River Banwy, Llanfair Caereinion

Species:Trout, Grayling,Chub)
Fishing on the right bank downstream from the town bridge for approximately 1/2 mile to the boundary fence.

River Camlad

Species:Trout, Chub, Dace, Eels
Take the B4388, Forden - Montgomery Road to the Stallow road bridge approximately 1 1/2 miles from Forden.
Fishing on the right bank upstream from bridge to signpost: downstream on right bank beyond railway bridge to Gaer road bridge.

Montgomery Canal (Disabled facility)


Species:Perch, Roach, Pike, Tench, Carp, Rudd, Bream
From Belan School Lane 2 miles South of Welshpool on A438, fishing is continuous to Welshpool and then for approximately another 5 miles on the A438 Oswestry Road to Tirymynach Lock.
